Hi and Welcome to River Gurus. My Name is Alex Aitken. I was born in Scotland, grew up in Saudi Arabia and When i was 9 years old i started Kayaking and at 12 started rafting. I am now 50 and have travelled the world, living and working in 60 countries. I absolutely love what i do and simply do what i love. I have run expedition rafting trips in so many places and have taught 1000 of people how to guide. At some point in time over the past 40 years i have been an instructor or assessor for SRA, Scottish Rafting Association, IRF international Rafting Federation, WRF, World Rafting Federation, Rescue 3 International, Rescue 3 Europe, SOA, Swiss Outdoor Association, SRF Swiss Rafting Federation, I've trained soldiers from both the British Army and the Israeli Defense force and taught hundreds of private rafters how to run rivers. My passion in life is passing on my knowledge to new and Old river enthusiasts.
River Gurus is all about training river guides to the highest international standards in raft guiding, River rescues and trip leading. Our qualifications are recognized by rafting companies all over the world.
