Accredited Rafting Operator
Duration: One day to two days
Aim: The aim of this certification is to create an international standard for rafting operators to follow, maintaining high levels of safety for guests.
Description: During the evaluation a World Rivers instructor will look into every area of the rafting operation. Job descriptions of the guide team, operation manuals, standard operational procedures, risk assessments, trip reports, guide certification and general safety procedures around the base of operation. On completion of the audit the instructor will send a report to the WRF General Secretary.
Certification: Once your rafting operation has passed the audit you will be certified as a professional rafting operator under the standards of River Gurus. Your company logo will be advertised on the River Gurus website along with a link to your company website.

Evaluation Workshop
Duration: Three to Five days, 40 hours river time and 6 hours theory
Aim: There are many river guides around the world that do not hold any qualification or have qualifications but would like to become part of the River Gurus family so the aim of this workshop is to simply sign you off at your level of guiding.
Description: every student needs to be signed off as a guide, either class two, three or four depending on your experience and to do this involves one day of basic rescue scenarios. Day four is optional for students that wish to be signed off as a safety boater, kayak or raft and day five is for people that wish to be signed off as a commercial trip leader.
Certification: once completed the course and membership fees have been paid you will receive a certificate of your guiding level from River Gurus which is valid for a three-year period.

River Guide Training school
Duration: Ten days, 108 hours of river time and 20 hours of theory
Aim: to teach you the student how to navigate a raft down white water safely and to give you a complete insight of the responsibilities of a river guide.
Description: this ten-day course is designed for the complete beginner to become a professional river guide. Students will learn how to guide a raft safely down a river and lead a group of inflatable kayaks down a river safely.
Certification: once completed the course and membership fees have been paid you will receive a certificate of participation from River Gurus.
Duration: Ten days, 108 hours of river time and 20 hours of theory

Aim: To give you the student as much knowledge of your responsibilities as a river guide by teaching you how to complete any type of rescue on the river.
Description: This six-day course is the equivalent of a Rescue 3, WRT PRO and a WRTA course but it is more orientated specifically for river guides. We teach hands on rescues each day and cover theory in the evenings. It is a very intensive course

Aim: To sign you off as a safety boater in an oar raft.
Description: This two-day workshop is designed for experienced river guides that hold a guide 4 certification but are not kayakers. Safety boating is different from safety kayaking and is something that the industry should be promoting more, as a raft in many situations is more useful than a kayak. Safety boating is powered by a guide using oars to row and so in this two-day workshop we teach everything that you need to know as a safety boat guide.
Certification: At the end of the course, if you have completed with all the requirements you will receive a certificate as a credited Safety Boater in an Oar raft.

Aim: To give you an insight of the responsibilities of a commercial trip leader
Description: The two-day Commercial Trip Leaders workshop is designed for people who wish to move up the ladder in their guiding career and want to take on the responsibility of working as a trip leader on commercial river trips. We teach the importance of communicating clearly everything that the guide team and participants need to know about a commercial rafting trip. We teach everything that a trip leader needs to know and do before and after each river trip.
Certification: At the end of the course, if you completed with all the requirements of a commercial trip leader you will receive a certificate as a credited commercial trip leader.

Expedition Trip Leader Workshop
Duration: Four Days to six days, River and theory together.
Aim: To give you an insight of the responsibilities of an expedition trip leader
Description: Expedition rafting is becoming more and more popular, especially in Africa, Asia and Central and South America. On this four-day workshop we teach students the importance of planning and organizing everything from packing lists to menus as well as where to set up camp, how to filter water and how to maintain high levels of hygiene in a camp kitchen.
Certification: At the end of the course, if you have completed with all the requirements you will receive a certificate as a credited Expedition trip leader.
Duration: Four Days to six days, River and theory together.
Aim: To give you an insight of the responsibilities of an expedition trip leader
