The key element to any rafting trip is the leader that you have and here at River Gurus we have some of the best leaders of the rafting industry. They have travelled the world setting high standards in guide training and river running, they have designed equipment for equipment providers and they have designed itineraries to remote places, totally off the beaten track.
We live our lives simply doing what we love and there is nothing that we enjoy more than being out on a river trip serving humanity.

Over the past 40 years, Alex has travelled to lead expeditions in 60 countries. The longer the river trip the better. From a young age Alex has had a passion for Central America and Africa and each year he runs trips to both destinations.
When not on the river somewhere he can either be found exploring some new adventure with his two beautiful daughters or he works away at his Almond farm in Spain. Although Alex is originally from Scotland he grew up in Saudi Arabia and has spent most of his life travelling from one river to the next. |
John Yost, Expedition Leader, California.
John pretty much started the rafting industry back in the day and opened up international rafting trips all over the world. He was one of the founders of Sobek Expeditions and when he retired from Sobek he started Wantok Adventures so he could simply carry on exploring the rivers of the world. John is extremely calm and easy going and is the man who makes fresh bread when your two weeks into a river trip. When john is not on a river trip he can be found at his home in California telling incredible stories of his adventures to his grand children. Alex and John have been working together for 20 od years. Alex designs trips for Wantok and John finds companies that need training for Alex.

Ceci is the smile behind every phone call and email and when ever she can she escapes on an adventure into the unknown. Although Ceci has worked in many industries she came on a river trip with Alex five years ago and has never looked back, choosing a tent with a star lit sky over any hotel room any day.
